Ethics: A Necessity in the Transformational Art of 5-Element Acupuncture
Sunday April 23, 2011, from 1 to 5 pm
presented by Lynn Schwartz, L.Ac.; Board Certified NCCAOM
In our practice of Acupuncture, we are bound by ethical guidelines in our relationships with our patients,
and with the people we interact with on a daily basis. We routinely are presented with ethical dilemmas
in our practices, and one must know how to navigate the sometimes confusing situations and shades of
gray that can arise.
In this seminar we will make distinctions between our morality as distinct from ethics. We will have the
opportunity to examine our own belief systems as well as eliciting and defining ethical issues
(confidentiality, duty to warn, abandonment, and boundaries), and how to resolve them.
We will explore how to address ethical issues in three primary ways: 1) classroom lecture; 2) role playing
exercises; 3) discussing actual questions from your practices that have arisen. Please be prepared to
bring in and discuss any ethical situations that you have experienced in your practice.
Seminar Fee: $75 ($65 if paid by March 15)
